NEW MEXICO:
ORDINANCE
REPEALING
ORDINANCE 2021-01
WHEREAS, The State of New rewrote the Conflict of Interest Act as the Governmental Conduct Act in 1993; and
WHEREAS, the Governmental Conduct Act applies to both county government and county elected officials, appointed officials and employees; and
WHEREAS, The Governmental Conduct Act contains specific investigative and enforcement mechanisms to ensure compliance; and
WHEREAS, The Governmental Conduct Act provides sufficient ethical safeguards for the citizens of Roosevelt County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of County Commissioners of Roosevelt County, that:
Section 1. Roosevelt County Ordinance Number 2021-01 is hereby repealed in its entirety.
EFFECTIVE DATE
This ordinance shall go into effect thirty (30) days after receiving a majority vote by the Board of County Commissioners and being recorded in the book kept by the county for the purpose of maintain a record of ordinances that have been approved by the Board of County Commissioners.
The proposed ordinance repeal will be considered for final approval on the 18th day of February, 2025, by the Roosevelt County Board of County Commissioners in an open meeting in Portales, New Mexico.
