Emma Sena

Emma Sena, 90 of Clovis passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 with her family at her bedside.
Emma was born on March 20, 1931 in Alamogordo Creek, NM, the daughter of Aurelio and Royita “Reyes” (Baca) Lopez. Her family moved to Fort Sumner following the construction of the Alamogordo Dam.
Emma attended schools in Fort Sumner. She married Daniel Sena on May 11, 1952 in Fort Sumner. They made their home in Clovis in 1990. Emma was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking for her family. They especially loved her homemade tortillas. Emma loved spending time with her family. According to her family, Emma was a talented seamstress and kept a super clean home. She enjoyed visiting garage sales.
Emma is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Daniel Sena; daughters Irene Sena and Kathy Sena; her parents Aurelio and Royita Lopez; sisters, Mary Ann Lopez, Elvira Orta and Rosa Lucero and a brother Abel Lopez.
Emma was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be missed by her children, daughters Leona Samora of Clovis and Mary Zamora (Oracio) of Clovis; sons Bobby Sena of Clovis and Jerry Sena (Karen) of Lubbock, TX; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother Dario Lopez (Ellen) of Fort Sumner; an aunt Erlinda Lopez of Fort Sumner, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The funeral Mass was held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. Interment followed at St. Anthony Cemetery in Fort Sumner, NM with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Emma’s grandchildren served as honorary bearers.
