HEARING NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the Governing Body, Village of Fort Sumner shall conduct a public hearing during the regular meeting held on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. at the Village Hall, 173 E Avenue C, Fort Sumner, NM for the purpose of adopting the following Ordinance in changes of the personnel policy.
The public is invited to attend and to provide written and/or oral comments concerning the proposed ordinance.
ORDINANCE NO. 439
AN ORDINANCE
VACATING A
PORTION OF THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 31 OF THE PARKER
ADDITION TO THE FORT SUMNER
TOWNSITE, VILLAGE OF FORT SUMNER, NEW MEXICO.
WHEREAS, the following described alley portion in the Parker Addition to the Fort Sumner Townsite within the Village of Fort Sumner, New Mexico, serves no useful, essential, or public use as an alley;
Section 1: That the northern 85 feet of alley in Block 31 of Fort Sumner Townsite, Village of Fort Sumner, New Mexico, be vacated.
Section 2: That the above described northern 85 foot alley in Block 31 within the Parker Addition of Fort Sumner Townsite, within the Village of Fort Sumner, New Mexico, according to the amended plat thereof on file with the County Clerk of the De Baca County, New Mexico, is hereby vacated and closed forever and hereby declared no longer to be an alley; provided, however that this vacation is subject to any easements now existing or franchises existing and given by the Village of Fort Sumner, nor shall said vacation be valid as to any easements or franchises granted by the Council of said Village for any utility in the future.
