Kerry Zan Lassiter

Kerry Zane Lassiter of Clovis New Mexico went home to his savior, he was 63 years old. Kerry was born in Ft Sumner New Mexico June 11, 1962. He was the eighth child and fourth son born to Charles and Shirley Garrett Lassiter. Kerry and his family made their home in Yeso New Mexico. Before Kerry was of school age, the family moved to Portales for several years before settling in Clovis.

He is survived by sister Anne Lassiter of Broken Arrow,OK, sister Darlene (Robert) Jenkins of Clovis, Brother Stanley Lassiter of Clovis, sister Katherine aka Katie (Pat) McIlwee of Parkville, MO, sister Yvonne aka Bobbi (Steve) Brooks of Danville, KS and a host of nephews and nieces who thought the world of him.
Kerry worked his way through life as a tradesman. He often worked on the construction crews, roofing, or home remodeling. He also worked in the oilfields and for quite some time he was a certified RV technician of which he was very proud. In later years he was a caregiver and companion for his Grand Dad and also for his Dad up until a few years ago. He loved his nieces and nephews and enjoyed the role of fierce protector when he deemed it necessary.
Blessed with the gift of gab, there were few people Kerry wouldn’t or couldn’t talk to. If you were willing to listen, or couldn’t get away, he had a story or two for you. He will be missed by those of us he has left behind.
Cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N. Fifth Street, Fort Sumner, New Mexico. (575) 355-2311.
