Vargas, Rigoberto Casasola

Rigoberto Casasola Vargas, 81 of Fort Sumner, U.S.A. passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. He was born December 16, 1941 in Gualan, Zacapa, Guatemala to the home of Abelino Casasola Sosa and Josefa Vargas Sosa. Rigoberto grew up in Guatemala.
Rigoberto came to the U.S. in 1982. He made De Baca County his home. Rigoberto worked for the Double V Ranch south of Fort Sumner for 21 years. He loved working on the ranch. He later moved into Fort Sumner where he worked for the Pecos Valley Tree Farm for 9 years. For the past 7 years he worked for Terry Rhoads Farms.
Rigoberto is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elvia Dahlia Casasola on August 1, 2018, four brothers Daniel Casasola Vargas, Raul Casasola Vargas, Cesar Casasola Vargas, Avelino Casasola Vargas, and a sister Otilia Casasola Vargas.
Survivors include one daughter Dania Eunice Casasola of San Pablo, Zacapa, three sisters Udelfa Casasola Vargas, Eloina Casasola Vargas, and Irma Casasola Vargas, 2 grandchildren all of Guatemala along with other relatives and a host of very good friends in Fort Sumner.
A graveside service will be held at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Time and date are pending.
